The title of this painting echoes everything I try to convey in my work. The need for escape and solitude. That secret getaway we all need from time to time.
I was sitting on a beach in Mauritius when I realised that this truly was heaven on earth. The solitary boat gently bobbing on still waters summed up my feeling about my surroundings and the fact that it was such an escape from home life and reality back in England! The vibrant yet therapuetic blues and greens alone were enough to signal pure bliss.
This exotic seascape paradise was created using acrylic paint in many layers until I reached the desired tones of the sea.
